Photographs by ALEX FINN MUSEKE
This collection captures the spirit of everyday life across different areas, from vibrant streets to the quiet resilience found in older generations. I was inspired by the rawness of human activity — the hustle of city streets, the coloUrful energy of locals, and the silent strength of aging faces. Moving through these places, I felt a deep connection to the struggles, joys, and traditions (yapa street) that define them.
The photos contrast vibrancy with stillness, youth with experience, chaos with calm, but together they tell one continuous story of survival and community. This approach, seeking out real and unfiltered moments, defines my authentic storytelling style. My goal with this series was to document not just what life looks like, but what it feels like.

BEHIND THE LENS
ALEX FINN MUSEKE is a Lusaka-based photographer whose work stretches beyond borders and categories. His signature? Emotion-raw, unfiltered, and deeply human. Whether capturing fleeting street scenes, the quiet beauty of a portrait, the chaos and tenderness of weddings, or the grit of documentary storytelling, his aim remains the same: to make you feel. Photography found Alex early. His mother, a spirited NGO worker, always carried a small camera, a quiet witness to the lives around her. It fascinated him. That fascination grew into obsession, and over time, a craft. Entirely self-taught and endlessly curious, Alex built his style not from textbooks but from the stories people carried on their faces. Featured in notable online magazines and having shot both locally and internationally, he’s a name steadily rising from Lusaka's creative scene to global curiosity. Because, as Finn will tell you, “The mind forgets-but the right photo remembers forever.” You can follow his visual journey on Instagram: @storieswithfinn
